Popular Fishball Noodles in Singapore

Song Kee Fishball Noodles

I like Song Kee for their handmade her-keow (fish dumpling) which is packed full with meat filings, whereas the fish skin is very smooth which just glide their way into your mouth. They have very good chili which goes very well with the springy noodles.

Teochew Fishball Noodle

This Teochew Fishball Noodle comes with the bright orange prawn cakes which caught my attention the first time. Other ingredients include minced meat, lean meat, fishcake, fishballs and meatballs. The noodles are springy however I think their dark chili seems slightly bitter for my liking. Overall, I like this noodle for the overall colorful appearance and generous variety of ingredients.

Jalan Tua Kong Lau Lim

This is the stall that for the first and only time so far that I classify fishball as delicious! Their fishballs are very springy yet tender and flavorful. In fact, the fishballs are so springy that I think we can play ping pong with it if required, but I will prefer not, as the fish balls are too tasty to go wasted.

Apart from the fish balls, the other ingredients and noodles already tasted very good! The fishballs contributed the bonus points!

Lixin Teochew Fishball Noodles

Discovered this noodle during one of my past work with a client near Breadtalk IHQ, and subsequently I always had their Fishball noodles at least once every week during my assignment. Love to order the signature noodles ($6.50) which comes with fish balls, fish cake and fish dumplings. Dry option with more chili. Fishballs are tender. It seems their fishballs are very popular, but I like the fish cake the most as I personally find it more flavourful and I like the chewy outer layer texture. The chili sauce goes very well with the noodles and can be quite spicy.
